At Thanksgiving dinner, my Mom even tried to take this bracelet home with her...she LOVED it as well!!!
She did try but, it wouldn't fit...hum, maybe a Christmas gift in the works! ;o)

Thank You!

Didn't know what we were missing.....

Christmas shopping experience "NOT" to be forgotten. ;o)

For "many" years now after Thanksgiving dinner we have headed out to attend craft fairs for the following weekend. This year was "VERY" different!

We actually got to enjoy our dinner, return home and for the FIRST time "ever"...we were at a “chain shopping store” at Thursday night.

Why?

Well, we decided to pull out the Christmas Decoration!!! Then, we decided to “finally” put our “old” artificial tree to rest. So, that meant getting a new one and “quick” so that we could finish decorating by the weekend. We heard earlier Thursday that this “chain shopping store” would be opening later in the day, “Thanksgiving Day”. This “chain shopping store” was unknown to us as we had “never” seen it the way we did Thursday evening, “Thanksgiving”. We were beyond SHOCKED to see how many people that was already there and in line for sales that “DID NOT” even start until !!! (FIVE (5) HOUR LATER)

While we were looking at the trees we heard a commotion…a lady realized she was in the wrong line and pushed her 2 “buggies” out of the line she was in and proceeded to where she was supposed to be. However, not with an additional commotion of running one of her buggies into a 4-way shelving unit causing 2 shelves to collapse with all their contents…just after we escaped from getting run over by her! We put the tree we decided on into our buggy and as we proceeded past her and her destruction my son asked, “Mom, could I be a scout and help?” I said, “Certainly, and we will all (Mom, Dad and son) help her.” However, as we spoke and knelt down to help her two associates walked up and the “LADY” walked off!!! My son said, “Mom that was “NOT” very nice of her to walk off when we were helping her…that’s not being “thankful!”
I believe this is an experience he will certainly remember.

While we were at this “chain shopping store” we "THOUGHT" we would pick up a few groceries...LOL! “ALL” the fruits and vegetables were replaced with "TOYS" and other items going on sale at . Aisles were marked off with yellow ribbon and when we step across to get an item down a food aisle, well…..you would have thought we had stolen something!!! We did manage to get bread so, we won’t starve! We had NEVER experienced the “chain shopping store” like that before…“ever”!

Just makes me wonder if we have been out of the loop too long???
If so, is this “REALLY” what the season has come to???
I have to say, it is certainly odd the “great” lengths people will go through and to…
for a “NON-handmade item”. ;o)

What commotion for an artificial tree…to simply get us through this year. Seeing that it’s only temporary, we allowed our son to pick the tree. Hum, I had a second thought of regret as he chose a “white” Christmas tree. I have “never” in my life had a white Christmas tree but, at least it was cheap. ;o) My husband and son said it would look great with our “red” living room. I personally thought it would stick out like a sore thumb but, it actually looks nice at night in our “red” living room lit up and has grown on me in this short time. However, if interested, you’ll probably see it at the Help Center next year. ;o) I would like to go back to a live tree.
2011 White Christmas Tree
(looks a little paltry but, will do)

Temporary White Christmas Tree...
looked a "little" better once Christmas ornaments were placed on it.

Will we be returning to the “chain shopping store” on a Holiday again???
Certainly “NOT” if I can help it! ;o) I think my cup of “chain shopping store” experiences is full enough to last me for the rest of my life. ;o)

Wishing you and yours a Safe, Blessed and Merry Christmas!

Spirit of the Season...Thank You ~ Santa's Workshop ~

"Gratitude is when memory is stored in the heart and not in the mind" ~ Lionel Hampton

2011 Santa's Workshop Booth

As most of you know, we cut back on our 2011 craft event schedule but, one event that we did not cut from our schedule is Santa's Workshop, which we recently attended November 18th thru 20th. What an event to be "stored in the heart" for many reasons. Santa's Workshop really sets the stage for the “spirit of the holidays”...we are simply not just talking about Christmas (which the show represents)...we look forward to this event each year!

Santa's Workshop is hosted by these wonderful CJWC ladies (Cookeville Junior Women's Club), which is part of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, established in 1890. The GFWC is one of the world’s largest and oldest nondenominational, nonpartisan, international volunteer service organizations of women with over one million members worldwide.

The very first Santa's Workshop was held in 1978. Around 40 of these wonderful members volunteer their time and effort into making this event an event that you do not want to miss…whether you are a patron, consumer, window shopper or vendor.
There is “much” to feast your eye upon! ;o)

We are “thankful” for the ladies and members of the Cookeville Junior Woman’s Club!
We are also “thankful” for each patron, consumer, window shopper and fellow vendors!
We would also like to "thank", Kim Gregory!
We are especially “thankful” for all of our customers!

In the "spirit" of sharing, many of you reading here are well aware that our Spoon Pendants are designed to beautify in many different ways shown here in our FaceBook Photo Album and on our August 11th Blog Post. But, we’d like to share a particular young lady with you and extend a special “thank you” to…..
Mrs. Miriam Goodman
Mrs. Goodman is not only a customer but, a jewelry designer, herself. She visited us at Santa’s Workshop on Friday and again early Saturday with friends. {{{HUGS}}}
She then returned Saturday afternoon/evening with a friend to purchase a few more spoon pendants to adorn her beautiful “beaded” crocheted necklaces! What a PERFECT match! Thank you for sharing with us Mrs. Goodman. We love your beaded crocheted necklaces with our Spoon Pendants…they are fabulous together! Look at how the beads sparkle in Mrs. Goodman’s beaded crocheted necklace with our Swarovski Crystal Spoon Pendant and how the colors are picked up!

“THANK YOU, Mrs. Goodman”! {{{HUGS}}}

We’d also like to “thank”:
Teresa Turner (business owner) ~ Carhtage
Ms. Smith (teacher) ~ Carthage
“Thank you” for your interest, kind words and continued support. {{{HUGS}}}

Thank You's and Giving is the "spirit" surrounding the upcoming season and we hope that you can find to store this "spirit" in your heart. Can you imagine what the world would be like if this "spirit" (Thank You's and Giving) was stored in each of our hearts and practiced daily?

Wishing you and yours a safe and blessed Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas!

Digging up bones!

Well...maybe not these types of bones…
and probably not the kind of bones you are thinking! ;o)

I “try” to go through and delete old files from my computer after every tax season as it’s “normally” easier to schedule during that time. However, after awaiting a return call from my computer guy and my recent computer issues, I decided to "use the time wisely” and was surprised of the old designs that I found and ones that I didn't find...I am sure they are here on a disk somewhere. ;o) However, for now, I share these few "simple" designs with you.

While digging around in my computer I found a few "old bones" (old designs).

Who would have thought that something as simple as this necklace and earrings set (a Christmas Ornament I dismantled) sold like hot cakes at the events we attended (I didn't). I was amazed at how well they sold. I think the fact that the pendant favors a pumpkin had something to do with that, don't you? ;o)

This necklace and earrings set actually reminds me of bones! ;o)

Another simple necklace and earrings set design from a dismantled Christmas ornament! ;o)

Ahhh...a 2008 necklace and earrings set made from a dismantled Christmas ornament! ;o)

And, another necklace and earrings set designed from a dismantled Christmas ornament! ;o)

Pictured here is a 2010 necklace and earrings set. ;o)

I can't remember what year this necklace and earrings set was made. I think it is pretty recent...maybe as recent as last year.
Although Pink is not one of my favorite colors, it is LOVED by many! This was actually made with a few beads from a bracelet added with some beads from our stash! ;o)

Psst...you didn't hear this from me but, I even found "a few" (old bones) designed by my husband! ;o)
I will never forget this green and red necklace set. The first year we attended Santa's Workshop I placed this design on my mannequin that sits up high for all to see. As soon as the doors opened a woman "praticially in a run" came straight over pointing at this set and saying she wanted "that set right there"! You should have seen the look on my husbands face! Too funny! After that incident, I jokingly appointed him designer of the featured items for this show, which he has continued and, although not quiet as quickly, his designs have sold off that mannequin. I am not sure what's up his sleeve this year if anything but, I will certainly share...provided I can get him out of the shop and into the jewelry room! ;o)

And this necklace and earrings set was designed by our son when he was 7 years old for a little girl he knew for her Birthday....ahhhhhh! ;o)
The next two months we will be located at the following events:
Santa's Workshop November 18th, 19th and 20th
Cross Roads Arts and Crafts League Christmas Show December 9th, 10th and 11th

From our home to yours...have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving and Christmas Season!
